Tomorrow

Tomorrow is December 1st! I can hardly believe it. I just started my Christmas shopping. I have only picked up or ordered a couple of things . . . still trying to figure out a way to pay for it all. Luckily Santa picks up the slack. I don't know what I'd do without him.

I have tried very hard to put a lot of thought into gifts this year. I am very interested in making gifts . . .as always. I love the pillows made from old sweaters with unique and outdoorsy appliques. I know I will be making at least one of those. I also really love mason jars with flavored coffee beans. The kids can take part in making these. I may hit the antique store and second hand stores to pick up more jars. I have also been trying to make scarves and hats. Those, well, I'm not so great at.

I am also VERY excited about making my husband's gift. Every year he forbids me from shopping for him beyond the basic pajamas. The same goes for his birthday. One year I framed pictures and ship manifests from the ship his grandfather came from Scotland on. I also framed pictures from his trip home when the Phillies won the World Series and pictures form their World Series parade. This year, I plan on creating a curtain for his work out room out of the banner he held up at the world series. It is a large piece of canvas that is painted on. I found some incredible fabric to line the canvas with and then add a decorative border. I am very excited because it will look great from outside and be fun on the inside.

Caden has also come up with a great idea. He wants to take all of the things out of his Dad's childhood scrapbook and frame them. There are some patches in there and some tickets from attending Phillies games and other Phillies World Series tickets from his childhood. I think it is an incredible idea and can't wait to help him do this.

I am also thrilled about the gift we are giving Jason. I think I wrote about it already. I will post pictures as I work on it. He takes off for Juneau this weekend and I hope to finish it then.

Happy December. I hope it is all you dream of!
