Rembrandt

I was at a bit of a loss of what to do with my blog today. So, I went out in search of a painting I remembered from Art Appreciation in college. I remembered the brilliant light and amazing red and yellow. So, uh, yeah. That was all I remembered. It is tough to find that on the Internet. It was easy, however, to find many incredible historical paintings by Rembrandt that I love. Not for the theme necessarily, but for the light. The focus. The use of red. It is everywhere, but brilliantly specifically placed to draw attention. It isn't like I get a warm fuzzy feeling when I see his work, but I am always breath-taken. I plan on hitting the library so I can look closer and share the work with my children.
