Around here, the Labor Day weekend seems to be the only time we are all together long enough to get anything done. So, what did our labors get us this fine Sunday?
A clean children's bathroom. I think it may have been the first time in months that the bathroom upstairs was cleaned. Seriously - I know I should venture up there more often and clean up, but I've got my own bathroom to contend with. I shouldn't have to clean 3 bathrooms . . . that is just gross. Especially when nine year old boys pee, well, everywhere, and 14 yr old young men have no better aim in the dark than a 4 yr old boy.
A family shed free of 1990 baby supplies. Oh, long story behind this - let's just shorten this by saying a lady used to gather up baby stuff from a thrift store and just DROP it off at my mom's just in case someone needs it. Now, its gone and I feel better. That and all of the old towels that the squirrels made homes in.
A cleaned out tin shed whose roof had fallen from the heavy snow this winter. Okay, the tin shed's contents needed to be moved into the green shed that needed to be cleaned to make room for the stuff my Dad wanted to keep.
A big spaghetti dinner (despite having no microwave to heat up the leftovers later).
So, now we are resting at 9:30 p.m. - watching some crazy show with crazy warrior stuff and 14 yr old jokes - yep, right up our ally.
Later, it is off to pick up the big boys from the airport at midnight. Our house will suddenly be filled to the brim . . . just the way we like it.
What does tomorrow bring? Probably a BBQ and cutting some wood to prep for winter.
